Collaboration Space 2.0 - a new concept of​ Virtual Reality (VR) project space

 Collaboration Space 2.0 introduced by Collaprime Oy, a Finnish based company, is a totally new concept of virtual reality space (formerly also known as a cave) with a new kind of  total implementation which can be considered as an industry leader in the world with an attractive price level.

As a part of a concept Navisworks support has been implemented directly, which means that all the project organisations that are benefitting Navisworks models can easily use their project models directly in this virtual reality project space.  
Collaboration Space 2.0 is easy to setup and operate , only short training period is required, and the service agreement allows project organisation fully concentrate in using the tool in a project work.
What is a virtual space?
 This new virtual space concept  is a collaborative space (formerly also known as a CAVE - Collaborative Automatic Virtual Environment) that allows user to experience and visualize architects and engineers 3D models in a stereoscopic view.
 
Virtual project space allows all the project members and stakeholders to observe engineering models in natural size with the impressions of being inside the model.  By using this tool all the project members and stakeholders can easily bring their professional views and feedback to the project.
 
The target of using virtual space is to promote collaboration, involving design and effective engineering and reduce the lifecycle cost of a building, plant or infrastructure target.
The Collaboration Space 2.0 VR space can be used multidisciplinary by all the projects that are using 3D modelling in their projects.
 
​Collaprime Oy and Profox Companies Oy have signed a cooperative agreement that allows Profox Companies to offer the Collaboration Space 2.0 and the needed project training services for their Navisworks customers  while Collaprime Oy takes care of technical implementation, installations, service and technical training .

Virtua Reality Space can be used during the lifecycle of a building, a plant or an infrastructure target multidisciplinary with a starting point of using involving design by gathering the feedback and views of the users and other stakeholders.
 
Engineering phase:
Illustrating the design to the project group and other stakeholders and using the observations during the engineering phase so that the final solution serves the use of the target as well as possible during the whole life cycle of the target while the lifecycle operational and maintenance costs will be minimized.
Construction phase:
Virtual project space allows siteworkers to get the real life impression of the site area and the installed components the way that corresponds the real site visit. Also the views and feedback of the site personnel can be taken into consideration during the engineering phase.
 
Maintenance phase
The operational and maintenance personnel of the target gets a real impression of the target when comparing the alternative solutions and allows them to give their feedback and views in terms of usability, operationality and serviceability.
That is how the users can better influence the outcome of the project so that the final solution serves as well as possible during its whole licecycle.
Virtual space also enables the operational and maintenance personnel to plan the shut-down and maintenance procedures of the target as well as it can also be used during the commissioning and start-up. In addition the virtual space is usable during the personnel trainings and while planning for health and safety.

Renovation type projects (Use of laser scan data )
Collaboration Space 2.0 system has a direct Navisworks integration, which means that all the file types that are supported by the Navisworks software, can be reviewed in Collaboration Space 2.0 virtual space. That also includes pointcloud materials proceeded by laser scanning units.
That workprocess supports the process of decision making by enabling simultanious review of scan data and the design model.
Using virtual space and model review  in stereoscopic mode outlines and analyses alternatives or methods of achieving the desired outcome especially during conceptual engineering as well as during the sitework.
